Tony Yao is a product designer and arts educator. Presently he serves as Product Consultant and Designer for children’s toys and doll houses at Small World Toys and teaches art at Pasadena City College and Art Center College of Design. Classes include: Sketching for Design, Introduction to Product and Transportation Design, Toy Design, Introduction to Communication Sketching and Advanced Product Design . He was Visual and Development Designer for “Barbie: Mainline” at Mattel, Inc.  He was the concept designer for WWF Wrestling action figures and playsets at Jakks Pacific, Inc.  He was product designer of the “next generation” promotional camera for Earthlink. For Technomarine, he designed counter displays of high-end sport watches. For LA Eyeworks, he was creative consultant for high-end fashion eyewear and accessories. He was lead consultant for LEGO collectibles line including “Star Wars” for Lego Systems. For MGA Entertainment, he designed and developed the “Girl Power” line of personal electronics and accessories. For Toy Biz, he did character designs for “Marvel Hall of Fame” and “Marvel’s Gold” action figure lines including “X-Men” and “Spiderman.” Mr. Yao taught Product Design, Model Construction and Portfolio Development at Academy of Art College in San Francisco. He eaned his B.S. in Industrial Design from Art Center College of Design.
